Size of patterns have undergone some changes due to experiences with internet thieves. I've thought this issue over quite a bit since my first frustrations about it and have concluded that I like making patterns that can be fun for people to paint with a lot more than fretting about what losers who steal limited usage files do. That doesn't mean I won't pursue a case of theft; it means that I will be posting 100 pixel square patterns and deal with issues as they arise.
Any new pattern sets will have numbers on the end of their file names that denote the maximum size of a bitmapped pattern. Vector originated patterns will have a '0' meaning '0 limit to resolution'. This is for the benefit of people who may want larger than 100 pixels square. I charge money so don't ask if you don't want to pay.
Regarding older pattern sets: since many of them are still quite popular I will most likely be resubmitting them at 100 pixels as time permits. It's unbelievable the amount of work I put into these things- and stock which I don't do anymore- but I can appreciate good free resources and I enjoy this aspect of creativity enough to do this.

The stock pictures and  textures are for use in creating your own artworks...on the DEVIANT ART SITE ONLY. For use outside of this site or for LARGER RESOLUTION images you may contact me via note or e-mail: artemislangley@shaw.ca. NO REDISTRIBUTION OF MY WORKS WITHOUT PRIOR PERMISSION. The only requirement for use on Deviant Art is by either commenting or noting and then of course, a link to your work while remaining within the usage stipulations listed below.

IT IS HERE THAT I HAVE TO POINT OUT THE OBVIOUS: My stocks and goodies are generally available to use free of charge- my only requirement is that you note me so that I can check out how you've used the resources and credit the actual stock.

On Deviant art that is quite simple:
it's very easy to copy/paste and don't use any spaces.

Regarding Prints:
You must ask for permission to submit works using my stock for print purposes. I am pretty easy going when it comes to granting it but if I find you have done so without first asking there will be problems.

If you wish to use the work off-site the same rule applies- note me or e-mail me thru my web site. I should not have to mention this last bit but if I don't I can imagine that some people will claim ignorance: None of my work is to be used in any way which would promote hate.
Less obvious, none of this work is to be used in such a way as to antagonize or deliberately offend others: This refers obviously to the issues of race, religion, the role of children in art, the use of animals in art, and of course sexual matters.


*1.Using my images for legitimate social/political/religious observations and satire are o.k. but using them to promote your own political or personal agendas is not.
*2.Using my images in conjunction with child models (with appropriate release forms supplied by you is o.k. but using them to show children involved in something illegal and harmful is not unless it falls under the first use.
*3. Using my images to aid in illustrating unaltered reality (photos) that depict living animals in real life settings is o.k. but using them to aid in depicting cruelty is not.
*4. Using my images with soft-core erotica is o.k. (hetero or homo only) but using them with hard-core sexual material is not.


If I find anyone using my images in ways that have been expressly stated as unacceptable I will not stop at just reporting them to the administration here. I will take matters much further than that and make it abundantly and publicly clear that this abuse is taking place.

I and fellow artists have been ripped off by people off this site who refuse to acknowledge they do wrong and who seem to think redistribution of resources is acceptable when in fact it is NOT. Also, I am tired of seeing stock, brushes, patterns etc. not properly being credited- just because DA and sites like it are vast resources archives does NOT mean people can just grab helpful stuff and not let the provider know- but thats how some people treat us and establishing tighter control is the end result.I provide photo stock, textures, patterns and more free to people who want to create art and even to sell it at modest print sizes if they do the correct thing.

A few sites have received permission to host my pattern sets at their original size which I don't mind- there simply will not be any more posted in excess of 100 pixels square for the foreseeable future.
