Description
My husband and I were hiking on the Alouette River a few weeks ago. I was just reaching my hand out to pluck a salmon berry on the trail when this wild flapping bird flew past my hand- the mother of these 2 chicks that were peering at me from a nest that was only chest high and maybe a foot from my outreached arm.
It was very dim in the woods- this was the best of about 4 shots. I don't know what kind of birds these were.

Omg, so cute. When I was a little girl I always wanted the steal the babies from nests away for myself. <3
